After I snapped this beautiful picture, I did some Googling. I didn’t know that the original pier was made of wood and part of it was taken out to sea in 1913. It was rebuilt with concrete. In 1965 and again in the early 2000s it was updated.

Of course, I can’t find a single interesting ghost story about it. I figured there would be a ghost surfer or swimmer story. I do remember some vague rumor about a man doing inappropriate things because he really liked fish.
